hey there!

I’m Aurora Gonzalez, a graduate student at the University of Oregon pursuing a Master of Science in Strategic Communications. I was the first person in my family to earn a high school diploma, attend college, and earn a BA in Public Relations with a minor in Legal Studies.

My leadership role as the Vice President of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Accessibility (DEIA) for Sigma Kappa Sorority has enriched my academic journey. During my time as VP DEIA, I worked with nationals to implement DEIA initiatives on Sigma Kappa’s official social media pages.

During undergrad, I worked on my professional skills in the beauty industry as a full-time lead cashier at Ulta Beauty. In this role, I collaborated with management to implement targeted sales strategies, including promoting loyalty programs, cross-selling products, and executing promotional campaigns to drive revenue growth. I also identified improvement opportunities to enhance team productivity by leveraging data and performance metrics.

Interestingly, my passion for communication and problem-solving traces back to my childhood. I spent a lot of time at my dad’s auto shop, helping him fix cars and calling local auto parts stores to order parts for cars he was currently working on. This early exposure to business-to-business communication sparked my interest in public relations and set me on my current path.

Which explains why I work at Goodyear now! [More to come on this.]

As a first-generation college student, I am driven to break down barriers and make a difference. With a dynamic skill set and a passion for bridging communication gaps, I strive to foster understanding and create meaningful connections.

Let’s connect! Whether you’re a like-minded professional or someone with a fresh perspective, I’d love to hear from you and explore new opportunities together. 🙂
